An on-grid, or grid-connected, solar system is the most commonly adopted solution for both residential and commercial applications. These systems operate without the need for battery storage and are integrated with the public electricity network through solar inverters or micro-inverters. Under a net metering arrangement, any surplus energy produced is fed back into the grid, allowing the system owner to earn credits against their electricity consumption.
